Our client is a major defence contractor based in Bristol who is looking for a SSMG Combat Systems Manager on a permanent basis.
Applicants are invited to apply through FPR Group and interviews will be carried out shortly.
You will require the following Skills & Experience:-
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline and has attained Chartered Engineer status as a member of an appropriate professional institution.
- Competent with project management.
- Broad knowledge and experience of naval platform/system/equipment safety, design, operation and support management.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of the operation and support of submarine combat systems.
- Significant knowledge and experience of management in a project, operations, approval of authorisation environment.
- Good working knowledge of MoD Design and in Service Support policies and standards.
- Experience of staff management and the leading of technical teams.
Your Roles & Responsibilities will include:-
- Responsibility for overall delivery of engineering support services to SM CS Group and the CSSG contribution to SESC KPI's.
- Delivery of CS SESC and TCSES tasks.
- Management of the SESC interface with other MoD and Industry stakeholders, including FWE and BAE, to ensure that any future design service arrangements are integrated and coherent with the SESC contract.
- Responsibility for baseline and specific task budgets for the CSSG, within the delegations provided.
- Maintaining/developing the professional and technical standards and capability of the SSMG CSSG.
- Continuous improvement of efficiency and quality of the CSSG service.
- Guidance and advice to customer in specialist areas. Assisting with development of overall SESC policy.
- Undertake additional tasks as required by the SESC Project Manager.
- Managing the evolution of SESC CS engineering support service and the CSSG through the transition to FOM arrangements and the migration of SM CS to MCS.
