Student Support and Wellbeing


As Student Money Advisor you will assist and support students with financial, welfare benefits and budgeting issues relating to their transition into Higher Education and their subsequent progression through various study levels. Through supporting students'' personal development and transferable skills, you will help to ensure they reach their academic potential and enhance employability upon graduation.

With excellent communication skills and experience of providing advice and support, the post holder will provide a professional yet empathetic advice service to students and stakeholders (including current and prospective students, parents and other staff) on financial and welfare matters. You will liaise with external bodies such as Student Finance England, Student Loans Company, DWP, local authorities and Citizens Advice Bureau to proactively resolve matters and work with individual students to prepare personal budget plans and money management strategies. The successful applicant will need to be proficient in Excel with the ability to work with financial data to calculate student entitlement in a timely manner.


The post holder will require attention to detail and strong organisational skills, managing a caseload of students, prioritising on the basis of financial and emotional needs, urgency and mandatory deadlines. You will be self-motivated, empathic to the concerns of students and understand the importance of integrity and confidentiality.
