The Department of Humanities is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Modern History. This is an open position and any geographical and historical period within the scope of Modern History will be considered. We would particularly welcome applications from those with the ability to contribute to the Department''s MA in Cultural History, as well as willingness to teach an introductory undergraduate historiography and methods module. The successful candidate will also advance teaching on several of our undergraduate degree programmes including for example BA History, BA Modern History and BA Politics and Contemporary History.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in History or cognate discipline, possess a track record of teaching excellence and have evidence of a strong commitment to high quality research and publication. They will be expected to play an active role in the research culture of the Department, contribute to the Department''s international reputation for learning and teaching, and demonstrate a willingness to attract external research funding.
