Are you qualified and experience in development management, and looking for a new challenge? Do you have the ability to provide leadership on development management, and a proven track record of successfully dealing with complex development proposals?

This is an exciting time to come and join our service, as we have recently signed a City Deal with central government to bring significant investment to key regeneration sites through our City Deal. With major infrastructure projects across the city you would be unlocking housing and regeneration opportunities, and shaping the future of Portsmouth.

As the most densely populated city in the UK, Portsmouth has interesting and diverse challenges with internationally designated Harbours; the city brings together environmental attributes, historic assets and conservation areas, along with a vibrant seafront.

Portsmouth boasts excellent direct rail links to other cities, including London, and hosts lots of events all year round, creating exciting cultural opportunities. Portsmouth is a University City, and benefits from the investment into the growing educational offer. Portsmouth is the home port for the Royal Navy including the two new aircraft carriers which are currently being constructed.

You will proactively lead on the delivery of the City Deal sites across Portsmouth. This will involve negotiating the best development outcome for the City, securing community infrastructure and benefits, and creating places that meet the needs of the existing and future community.

Why not compliment your existing experience and gain some valuable city-based skills and come and work for this unitary authority. You'll have the opportunity to get involved in creating improvements in the city through regeneration projects and contributing to development management in Portsmouth.

Closing: 5th June 2017 Interview process: 22nd & 23rd June 2017
