My client is a major support partner to the Royal Navy and market leading FTSE 250 organisation who are currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer (Structures) on a permanent basis.

You will require the following skills & Experience:-

  • Qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline (Building, Civil/Structural Engineering).
  • Chartered status essential.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a level of competence in the use of analysis and design codes and programmes, user of Inventor and AutoCAD and an understanding of DRDL procedures.
  • Nuclear and Dockyard experience.

Your roles and responsibilities will include:-

  • Supervising and undertaking professional design tasks and/or design substantiations for the repair/development of Nuclear Safety Related and Non Nuclear Facilities throughout their lifecycles.
  • Delivery of professional advice and support for the definition, achievement and maintenance of the design intent of structures and equipment supporting Nuclear and Non Nuclear facilities.
  • Supervising, preparing and/or checking designs, analysis, graphical models, report, drawings, specifications and other documents in support of Nuclear and Non Nuclear related plant, facility and equipment within the company's licensed, authorised and operation sites, or in support of external contracts.
  • Ensure documents produced in support of Nuclear Category 1,2 or 3 plant is of the quality of design commensurate with the DNSP's
  • Support development, construction, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of all facilities to ensure that they comply with the design intent and DNSP's for Nuclear related works, together with all relevant Local and National Regulations and Legislation.
  • Participate in the development of CAD and Modelling systems for the technical solutions to deficiencies or the development of new designs.
